Smart Therapy Tools is the brainchild of Colleen West, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Internal Family Systems Approved Consultant. She is a Northern California based clinician, trainer, writer, and poet.

Colleen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an Internal Family Systems Approved Consultant, and a Northern California based clinician, consultant, writer, and poet. She combines Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor, EMDR, and two decades of clinical experience to create fresh, friendly, and effective materials for trauma therapists. But mostly IFS! Her trainings offer clinicians clarity, nuance, and encouragement, as well as a ton of information. She knows it can be lonely in the trenches for psychotherapists who treat clients with histories of abuse and neglect. She is dedicated to help lighten this burden, both for clinicians and the clients who depend on them. Colleen strives to be antiracist and culturally aware. She is an LGBTQ+ and a neurodivergent affirming practitioner.
She lives, writes, and consults in the San Francisco Bay Area with her beloved husband and her dog, Sky.
